Northern Cyprus, a real gem!

In this part of Cyprus, tourism has developed slowly and the country is characterized by a fantastic setting with world-class beaches, free-roaming wild donkeys, turtles breeding on the island, exotic flowers all year round with, for example , 32 species of orchids. Cyprus also has a diverse history, an exotic cuisine with influences from Greece, Lebanon, Turkey and Italy. In the nearby towns of Kyrenia and Nicosia, the shopping and nightlife is second to none. Tourism and the Cyprus
Getting to Cyprus is easy and inexpensive. The nearest airport is Ercan approx. 20 minutes by car from the villa. All planes first land in Turkey (often Istanbul). Getting to and from Ercan is done preferably by pre-ordered car, which work well and cheaply on the island. A recommendable company is Kara Pasha & Son LTD, (owner; Faari) +90 542 851 13 23 and costs about 250 SEK/day for a small car. Taxis are also affordable and convenient options (can be arranged through the same company). Direct flights are also available to Larnaca, located on the south side of the island about 2 h from the villa, however,  it is then necessary to cross the border making finding the villa more difficult.

The golf course.

The golf course, Korineum Golf Resort, is situated in an area of stunning natural beauty where the summer heat is often cooled by slight sea breezes. Playing in the winter is equally as enjoyable with temperatures up to 20 C°. Prices are moderate and all information is obtainable via their website.

More about the golf course

The easiest way to get there is by car. It takes about 8 minutes to drive from the villa to the golf club. There you will find excellent areas for training with a driving range, putting green and PGA-instructors. There is also a nice restaurant/bar.

The North Cypriot cuisine.

The Cypriot cuisine is a unique and an exotic blend of cultures and food from surrounding countries such as Greece, Turkey, Italy and Lebanon. The Cypriots love to eat and the food plays a significant social role in people's lives. There are some fine restaurants in Esentepe (see contact information here). Eating in Kyrenia affords even more choice with restaurants such Niagi's (meat and fish) and Dragon (Chinese). Classical cuisine includes mezes (small appetizers).

The nightlife.

Bars and nightclubs are of international standard offering everything from trendy nightclubs and casinos with VIP Services to premises with live music such as rock, pop, blues and jazz. In Nicosia many places are now open around the clock! See further on norracypern.net and in contact information here.

Shopping.

In Cyprus it is possible to purchase copies of all famous brands at very low prices, although, for those who want to buy the real thing, most of the major originals brands are represented in the main cities. In Kyrenia, different weekly markets are held that are very popular.

Landmarks.

With exciting hiking trails, abundant wildlife, historic monuments and incredibly beautiful beaches, there is something here for everyone. Kyrenia castle, for example, the world's oldest boat found just outside the harbor and Golden Beach on the Karpaz peninsula, rated as one of the world's most beautiful beaches.
